We are well known for our superior quality bedding plants, grown at our three production nurseries in Essex and Suffolk. We produce more than a million bedding plants and perennials from seed, cuttings and by growing on small plants from other nurseries.
70 Years Growing Experience
Our nursery team work hard cultivating our Grown at Perrywood range in our modern production unit, which is sold exclusively at our Garden Centres. Plants have always been our passion, did you know we grow around a million bedding, basket and vegetable plants each year!
How it all began
Owned by Alan's parents Mary and Les Bourne, the nursery began in the 50's as a small holding with animals, growing commercial crops of potatoes and pick your own strawberries. After studying at Writtle College and working for Colchester Parks department, Alan's joined the family business in 1968 growing and selling salad crops and bedding plants. Alan and his wife Karin took on the business in 1983 and from here the nursery has developed to support the growing business producing around a million plants a year.
