£10,000 Wildlife Campaign

£10,000 Wildlife Campaign

This year, we’re proud to be working with Essex Wildlife Trust and Bumblebee Conservation Trust to help local primary schools create spaces that support wildlife and inspire children to connect with nature.

As part of our 2026 £10,000 wildlife campaign, we’re inviting primary schools to apply for a wildlife kit.

Primary schools can choose from one of two themed kits worth up to £120. The successful schools will receive a kit coupon, each designed to support local biodiversity while creating engaging outdoor learning environments.

Available kits:

House Sparrow Support Kit (in partnership with Essex Wildlife Trust)

Help us bring back the house sparrow. Their population has declined by almost 70%.

To create your kit, you can choose from:

• Bird feeders

• Bird food

• Nest boxes

• Plants such as grasses or hedging

Bumblebee Support Kit (in partnership with Bumblebee Conservation Trust)

Help us support our local bumblebee species and learn how to identify them.

To create your kit, you can choose from:

• Bumblebee-friendly plants and bulbs for year-round seasonal colour

• Planters or pots

• Compost

• Watering cans, gloves and trowels

If your application is chosen, you will be issued a coupon to spend at any of our three garden centres.  You will also receive classroom educational materials and guidance.

In addition, three lucky primary schools will each win an extra wildlife experience worth £1,000:

• X 1 Bumblebee Conservation Trust School Award Day or a Bumblebee Safari

• X 1 Essex Wildlife Trust Wilder Learning Day

• X 1 A school visit from Lee Connelly, the Schools Gardening Coach

ALL primary schools that enter will receive some online resources to help them support wildlife and connect their pupils to nature.
